In 2007, we brought our daughter Laura along to her first class in the Billie Barry Stage School.
With no prior experience ourselves of the School, we were so delighted that she instantly fell in love with everything about it and found a passion which has held her interest to this day. Clodagh and Rachel soon followed; little did we know that from that day on, the BBSS would become an inherent part of our family life. Twelve years on, all six of our daughters have learned invaluable life lessons there. Lorraine has a way with children like no other, with an ethos of hard work, impeccable manners and respect. This has been imprinted on our girls' lives in the most positive way. Singing, dancing and piano have become a daily part of our lives: our girls have had wonderful opportunities within the school, Gaiety Shows and pantomimes. Clodagh has been fortunate enough, while working hard on every aspect taught to her, to secure some professional work. She takes massive pride in conducting herself professionally and respecting others, and will forever treasure the opportunity of being part of animations Nelly & Nora and MyaGo. As a family, we are forever grateful to Lorraine, Peter, Louise, Robyn and Ryan for the hard work they put in weekly. We can't imagine life without the happiness the BBSS brings to our girls.

Our son Robert has practically grown up with the Billie Barry Stage School since joining at the tender age of 5. This prestigious school teaches students the value of hard work , dedication and respect which they will carry with them throughout their lives. Robert also enjoys taking piano lessons, summer camp and choir with the Billie Barry Stage School.
Students receive the highest level of physical fitness training which is evident during the warm up exercises on Parents Day. Robert has made so many good friends along the way and his social life now as a teenager revolves around his “BBK family” It has also enhanced our own social life as we have met other parents that we now call true friends We highly recommend the Billie Barry Stage School and hope to be part of the “BBK Family” for many years to come.

Six years ago Adam learned his first dance step in the Billie Barry Stage School. Darragh followed two years later and Kate is the most recent member of the Malone family to join. What a wonderful experience it has been and continues to be for all three of them.
The school has provided an opportunity for all three to learn a variety of performance art forms. It is a school where high standards are both expected and encouraged, where great friendships have been made and where every student respects and supports each other. The sense of camaraderie and team work has to be seen to be believed. The skills they have learned and the memories they have experienced will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I don’t think Kate will ever forget standing on the Gaiety Stage, singing her little heart out, as she played her part in celebrating 50 years of the Billie Barry Stage School. Darragh can’t get used to hearing his voice on RTE Jnr in “The Day Henry Met” and Adam still can’t believe he got the opportunity to travel to Shanghai China to perform in one of Ireland’s best known plays “Waiting for Godot”. The school has shown all three of them that hard work, dedication and team work isn’t such a bad thing after all. Long may it continue…

I love my kids being part of such a fantastic stage school. We have been part of the school for the past 10 years. During this time they have had amazing opportunities. They have learned to work hard and strive to be the best they can be, not only in their dance class but in all aspects of life. Lorraine has instilled a lot of life lessons in the children which will stay with them their whole lives!

I was one of the lucky girls who performed on numerous Christmas Pantos in both the Gaiety/Olympia Theatres in addition to many Late Late Shows in the early ’80’s. Great memories, great friends and fantastic life skills that have helped shape the person I am today. Roll on 30 years and who would have known that I would be blessed again to see my daughters perform on numerous Billie Barry Shows and Christmas Pantos. Thank you Ms Barry, Lorraine, Peter and Robyn for such wonderful memories.

I can’t imagine my life without Billie Barry. I have grown up there. My memory box is full of things from the many shows and wonderful experiences that I have had. I have met my closest friends and I am working towards my dreams of being a dancer. I feel I am happiest when I am at Billie Barry or surrounded by bbk’s. I am very proud to be part of this dance family.

When I am on the Gaiety stage it is exactly where I want to be. The feeling of putting everything I have into every dance move and song lyric is so uplifting and just makes my heart burst. The energy bouncing off everyone on the stage as one big family is just incredible and the best part is the feeling that you get when the audience applauds at the end, a feeling too amazing to put into words.

The magical feeling of dancing out onto the Gaiety stage full of awe, excitement, energy and pride will always be the same, from my very first show age 7, right to today.

There’s no better thrill than getting to do what you love with the people you love. I’ve made memories that will last a lifetime during all of my previous Gaiety Shows and I can’t wait to create even more.

Happiness is... singing in the choir with friends — and even making new ones! Our Choir Director Peter Beckett always makes sure that we are having fun learning and performing together.

|
Musicala show year is my favourite year (apart from the Gaiety show) because I love the sound of all our voices together. We have so much fun practicing and preparing for the show, Peter Beckett is just awesome. We get to showcase the skills we’ve learned, dancing, performing and singing all at the same time, in front of our families and friends. I’m super excited for this year’s show.

|
Musicala means forgetting my troubles while I sing and dance my heart out, hanging out with my best friends, practicing hard, doing my best, performing, having the time of our lives.

Summer School
|
Summer school means so much to me. It allows me to push myself to be a better dancer, performer and develop an excellent stage presence. It teaches me to give 100% dedication to everything I do in my life. Summer wouldn't be summer without Summer School!
|
|
Think of the biggest number in the world, and the greatest word in the world, and multiply them, that’s how good Summer School is!
|
|
Summer School is the best because you get to dance, sing and be with your friends at the same time. You have the time of your life and it’s the greatest experience.
