Brand New Day - Musicala 8OCTOBER 2026 - HELIX DCU, MAHONY HALL
VERY EXCITING NEWS! The BIllie Barry Stage School presents BRAND NEW DAY - MUSICALA 8, an electrifying production where song and dance collide. The dates are SATURDAY OCTOBER 9th at 7pm and SUNDAY OCTOBER 10th at 2pm at the Mahony Concert Hall, Helix, DCU. This fabulous production will star Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist RUTHANNE and Wild Youth frontman DAVID WHELAN, and features the very talented performers of the Billie Barry Stage School. Tickets are on sale from Helix box office or online from Monday 11th May at 10am. |
Summer Theatre SchoolJuly 2026
Our hugely successful and highly acclaimed annual Summer Theatre School takes place from Monday 6th to Friday 24th July. Two showcase performances will be presented on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July. |

Oklahoma!JUNE 2026 — Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
Huge congratulations to our own DAVID WHELAN who stars as Curly McLain in Oklahoma! at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre this summer! Very exciting. Introducing the principal cast of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!: Leading an all-Irish cast, Wild Youth frontman David James Whelan stars as Curly McLain, bringing powerhouse vocals and an electrifying stage presence. Cork-born musical theatre star MOLLY LYNCH takes on Laurey Williams with an impressive body of work across stage and screen, Molly brings depth, experience and star quality to this iconic role. |
Poor - Gate TheatreMARCH - MAY 2026
GATE THEATRE DUBLIN / BELGRADE THEATRE COVENTRY HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our BBK PIPPA OWENS on her wonderful portrayal of younger Katriona in Poor at the Gate Theatre. She appears alongside past BBK the wonderful HILDA FAY who is phenomenal as Tilly, Katriona’s mother. Following the hugely successful run in Dublin, POOR transferred to the Belgrade Theatre Coventry from May 1-9, thanks to the support of Culture Ireland. A superb production. Congratulations all! |

A HUGE WELL DONE to two of our BBKs, senior student KATE MALONE and intermediate student CIARÁN STACPOOLE who did a wonderful recording session at Tinpot Productions Recording Studio. The feedback: "They were amazing! Very well prepped and there were actually tears in the studio as they managed to convey the emotion of the piece so well. This wonderful Easter production ‘The Chocolate Shop Has Lost its Hop’ was produced and directed by past BBK CARL MAGUIRE and written by past BBK AISLING BREEN who also played the role of CARMEL CARAMEL.
Delighted to say that current BBK MARIA ROWLEY shone brightly in the role of Chloe Caramel and our own HAZEL O'BEIRNE was superb as Hop the Bunny!

Long Balconies at the IFIMARCH 2026: IFI DUBLIN
How wonderful to attend Galpal Collective presenting ‘Directed by Her’, an annual event at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar celebrating International Women’s Day and featuring the works directed by Irish women. SO proud to watch the short film ‘Long Balconies’ directed by past BBK, the fabulously creative and talented CARA GAYNOR. Such an emotional, moving and powerful story told beautifully by Cara. Amazing to listen to her at the Q&A after the showing of all 14 short films and hear her passion for film making. Such joy. What a great girl. Go Cara! |
Magic Markers film starsFEBRUARY 2026: DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Congratulations to these two fabulous BBKs JAKE FARMER and DYLAN BOWE pictured at the Dublin International Film Festival where the short film Magic Markers (2025) was shown, in which they both feature. Magic Markers is a Screen Ireland, Irish Focus Short Film directed by Jason Branagan and produced by Emer Durcan. The story follows a young boy who finds magical markers that bring his drawings to life, which he uses to draw a big brother to protect him from school bullies. What an amazing experience for these super actors. Well done Jake and Dylan! |

New Project for FrankieFEBRUARY 2026
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to this gorgeous little BBK, FRANKIE McMAHON who has been cast in a very exciting recording animation project (watch this space!). And as the saying goes ‘The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree’ — Frankie is the daughter of George McMahon and Rachel Smyth. Go Frankie! |
